How shall we begin to take charge of our lives in this increasingly chaotic world?
Dominican Sr. Miriam MacGillis, founder of Genesis Farm, suggests looking into the Deep Transition movement.
The Transition movement supports local leadership's efforts to help people build community resilience and become involved in actions that need to be taken to mitigate the effects of peak oil, climate change and the economic crisis. Its founders, Michael Brownlee and Lynette Marie Hanthorn of Boulder, Colo., will present a four-day workshop Sept. 20-23 at Genesis Farm in New Jersey.
In the last five years, almost 300 Transition initiatives have taken root in 15 countries, with more than 60 in the United States, according to the Genesis Farm website.
