The Peace Pulpit: "Know that many are called, but few are chosen," Jesus concludes a parable. That story of today's Gospel is very important for us as we reflect on this call to change our lives. Those who were invited began to make excuses.

The Peace Pulpit:  "Put away the sword," Jesus said. "Those who live by the sword will die by the sword." His message is so clear, the message against violence. Each of us is called to conversion. 

The Peace Pulpit: You don't earn anything from God. Whatever you receive is a gift, whether you begin at the first hour or the last hour, you are being gifted. 

The Peace Pulpit: It's so important that we as a people, followers of Jesus who teaches us this truth about God, that God is kind and merciful, full of compassion, Jesus who teaches us that truth calls us to be the same.

The Peace Pulpit: Each of us in our own private and maybe less dramatic way are called to do the same thing — reach out in forgiveness, reconciliation and love. 

The Peace Pulpit: Every one of us is called to the same faith, to be that rock of faith, which makes us ready to follow Jesus.

The Peace Pulpit: We have to break down the barriers that separate us, that divide us, that cause hostility and hatred and violence.
