At Mirror of Justice, Princeton Professor Robbie George has penned a defense of his friend Conrell West. There is much to be said for such personal loyalty as George's essay contains. But, of course, the issue is not whether or not Professor West is a nice guy. The issue is whether or not he has what George terms a "profound concern" for the issues he engages. I submit there is nothing profound about West's writings or speeches. His concern may be real, it may be deep, it may be existential, but it is not profound.
