At HuffPost, Zach Carter writes about the way Democratic Party elites have failed the working class. He takes a look at the recent articles in National Review, about which I wrote earlier this week, and the descent of some GOP intellectuals into Social Darwinism. But, it is good that he does not let the Dems off the hook either.
At the other NCR, Edward Pentin criticizes Pope Francis' key appointments. I am unfamiliar with some of the names on the list, but his criticism of Archbishop Blase Cupich is bonkers. The people who do not like Archbishop Cupich are the same people who have wrecked the Church and who voice their criticisms while taking a break from manning the barricades in the culture wars. Yeesh.
Speaking of papal appointments, here is the video of Cardinal Sean O'Malley's sermon at yesterday's Chrism Mass in Boston. I am sure it will give agita to the same people criticizing Archbishop Cupich.
