Now, Lewis looks at the conspiracy theories close to the hearts of three of Pope Francis' loudest prelatial critics: Bishop Athanasius Schneider, Cardinal Robert Sarah and Cardinal Raymond Burke. I was especially delighted to see the cardinal discuss the interrelationship of work and migration and specifically the critical role of labor unions in helping poor immigrants come together in solidarity to defend their families.
Another example of illiberalism on the left: After its mess in Philadelphia, Starbucks brings in former Attorney General Eric Holder, and Sherrilyn Ifill, president of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund and the Anti-Defamation League, to help them confront the racism on display in that ugly incident. And, some of the professional grievance peddlers on the left, steeped in nonsense about intersectional something or other, object to the Anti-Defamation League's presence. You can guess why. A friend sent this wonderful video of the late, great Msgr. Lorenzo Albacete being interviewed by Lucette Verboven. How we miss this wonderfully gifted priest! I know he loved Pope Francis and I am sure his unique ability to explain Catholic teaching might have helped heal some of the divisions within our church.
