At the Washington Post, fact checkers demonstrate that President Donald Trump has made 1,628 false or misleading statements in 298 days in office. I am sure he will dismiss this report as "fake news," which only makes the new total 1,629.
Also at the Post is a profile of Paula White, the evangelical pastor who "led Trump to Christ." I would suggest that she led him to a false image of Christ, one every bit as grotesque as the golden calf the Israelites crafted in the wilderness.
From the "broken clock is right twice a day" category, Sean Hannity has called for Judge Roy Moore to explain himself or drop out of the race for Senate in Alabama. If Moore is losing Hannity, he really is in trouble. I am rooting for Moore to stay in and win, so that the embarrassment can stalk the GOP for a bit longer. Politico has the story.
At Religion News Service, Mark Silk notes that some evangelicals in Alabama are beginning to desert Moore, at least if recent polls are correct.
At The Hill, Juan Hernandez looks at how the GOP tax bill, if it wasn't bad enough, has the further pernicious aspect that it will cost Puerto Rico 75,000 jobs. Because they have not suffered enough.
