At Politico, President Donald Trump says it will be necessary to wipe out the debt owed by the Puerto Rican government. This is true — it is necessary — but Trump does not always tell the truth, so it's hard to know if he means it. If he does take steps to wipe out the debt, I promise to say nothing bad about him for a week.
Monday I wrote about the new Supreme Court term and the hope that the high court could remain the one branch of government that is not hopelessly polarized and an embarrassment to the nation. That hope took a hit on the court's second day from Justice Samuel Alito who apparently did not receive the Holy Spirit — a spirit of truth — at the Red Mass two days prior, putting forward a totally erroneous question during oral arguments.
