At Politico, former president Jimmy Carter is, so far, the only former president to RSVP that he will be attending the inauguration. My respect for George W. Bush is on the uptick.
At RNS, reports on evangelicals upset with Russell Moore, who heads the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, because he refused to jump on the Trump bandwagon. Moore's unflinching support for the more extreme interpretations of religious liberty made me suspicious, but I am beginning to like the guy more and more.
For those of us of a certain age and who, like George W. Bush, were young and irresponsible when we were young and irresponsible, many a late night was spent dancing to the music of George Michael, who died on Christmas day. His most famous song still makes me want to dance.
