Politico refers to its "surprise" that former Vice President Dick Cheney has become a Trump surrogate. Now that Trump has decided to put corporate America in charge of the government, why the surprise?
My former colleague John Allen, who now edits the Knights of Columbus-funded "Crux" has an article about Cardinals O'Malley, Wuerl and Cupich forming a kind of pro-Pope Francis axis. This fact is not news to regular readers of this column, but perhaps Allen should be a more regular reader. He refers to "the Polish pope’s more robustly evangelical outlook." More robust than whom? Than Pope Paul VI? What did he do except pen Evangelii Nuntiandi.
