To reach critical audiences, we need more faith-based climate news

Faith-based environmental journalists — on multiple platforms and in various languages — stand the best chance to reach communities that are severely impacted by the climate crisis and need to be prepared to adapt.

East African bishops hope new guidelines ramp up adoption of Laudato Si'

After Catholic bishops approved new guidelines to bring Laudato Si' to life in East Africa, attention has turned to sharing them far and wide throughout churches and to Catholics across the region.

During Africa Climate Week, faith leaders held a side event Aug. 30 in Libreville, Gabon, where they devised key priorities and asks for leaders at the COP27 United Nations climate change conference that will take place in Egypt in November.

Bishops conclude assembly with guidelines to better implement Laudato Si' in East Africa

Bishops in Eastern Africa concluded a nine-day meeting, saying the region's environmental concerns can be attributed to human behavior, and suggesting actions to increase awareness of how the climate crisis affects local communities.
