NCR Today: The new Iraq or Clinton moment today is Venezuela. The issue is whether the U.S. will invade it to overthrow the Maduro government and install one more favorable to the United States.

NCR Today: A long history of influence and invasion in the Caribbean and Central and South America by the United States is no justification for continuing to military "solutions" in this "sphere of influence."

NCR Today: Despite the racism they faced, Mexican-Americans like José wanted to show other Americans that they were willing to put their lives on the line for the U.S. And so they did.

Yes, there was a blue wave in the midterm elections. It came in the form of more Latinos and other minority groups than ever before voting in the midterms . 

NCR Today: Trump introduced a Latino American immigration officer and stated the officer "speaks perfect English." But it's an insult to suggest that's an anomaly.

Some say that we have lived through more difficult times, and perhaps we have, but that is no compensation for the dangers we face right now. 

NCR Today: On July 1, Mexican voters elected Andrés Manuel López Obrador as president. There are five reasons why López Obrador's marks a major new direction for the future of Mexico.

NCR Today: Since the country's earliest years, this love/hate relationship with immigration has been a struggle over the meaning of America and the soul of America.

NCR Today: Undocumented immigrants are not animals and as long as we dismiss them as such we will never resolve the immigration issue.

NCR Today: People struggle with rampant social injustices; we have to live the Gospel message without distinction as to race, class, gender or sexual orientation.

NCR Today: The "blowouts" of March 1968 remind us that social justice and democracy are not given to us, a critical lesson for the age of Trump.

NCR Today: The problem that Trump has is that Latinos are here to stay. Their population continues to grow. Every month, thousands of Latinos turn 18 and many will register to vote.

NCR Today: The U.S. Congress has now passed the tax bill, and President Donald Trump has signed it. What a travesty!

NCR Today: Looking at the income tax bills being crafted in Republican-majority U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, along with how the administration is ending Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status for millions of young people shows that equal opportunity is fading in America.

Puerto Ricans are our people — hardworking, fellow Americans. But they need financial aid to reconstruct their island after Hurricane Maria. Trump's recent insensitive, racist comments don't help them.

NCR Today: Trump supports anyone who takes any action, even though they may break the law and do injury to constitutional principles, as long as they support his anti-immigrant fixations. 

NCR Today: Donald Trump can no longer be accepted as President of the United States. He has disgraced his office and abused his powers. 

NCR Today: Endless war. We're living or re-living Orwell's 1984. Now President Donald Trump wants to send more American troops to Afghanistan.
