Administrator

Position Description: serves as a hands-on administrator of the Sisters of St. Louis (SSL) in California/Brazil. This position ensures the smooth functioning of the community and care of its members living in/around the greater Los Angeles/Thousand Oaks area (75 mile radius).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Promote the mission and values of the Sisters of St. Louis by demonstrating behaviors supportive of this commitment including respect and involvement, teamwork, open and effective communication, and efficient and effective use of resources.
•    Work in conjunction with the Health Care Coordinator, CFO, Business Manager and is answerable to the Sisters of St. Louis Central Leadership Team (CLT).
•    Adhere to pertinent SSL Institute and Community policies, procedures, and objectives.
•    Exhibit a professional attitude in attire, workplace, and interpersonal communications.
•    In conjunction with the Health Care Coordinator, visit the sisters at the Retirement Centers and Skilled Care facilities where they reside.  
•    Assume tasks such as keeping files in the community office up to date (for example, Advanced Health Care Directive Forms, Funeral Arrangements), responding to correspondence, sending birthday, Christmas cards etc.
•    Arrange for gatherings of the sisters.
•    Oversee funerals of the sisters.
•    Periodically write articles for Institute Newsletter, Musings.
•    Ensure sisters who want to participate in Institute-wide programs/initiatives have the possibility and resources to do so.
•    Link with the Associates.
•    Perform other tasks/services as directed by the Institute leadership.

•    A self-starter with problem solving skills; the ability to think creatively; to act collaboratively, and to communicate effectively; strong decision-making skills guided by values, wisdom, experience, and good judgment.
•    Leadership, organizational and time management skills, team collaborator, good communicator, and experience in relating to an elderly community.
•    Relates to others in a manner that elicits trust and respect.
•    Flexibility.

Qualifications:
•    Compatibility with the Mission& Values of the Sisters of St. Louis
•    Knowledge and experience working with an elderly community
•    Experience in Human resources at management or director level
•    Experience as a pastoral professional within a healthcare setting, preferably with a geriatric population

Minimum Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s Degree
•    Four (4) units of CPE

Preferred:
Advanced Degree in Elder Care such as MSN or MSW

Licenses, Registrations, or Certification:
•    Advanced Degree in Elder Care
•    Four units of CPE
•    Board Certification with NACC, APC, or NAJC preferred
