Methodology
Mercury Analytics, a high-tech consumer and political research firm, conducted a quantitative online research study from October 3 to October 8, 2024, recruiting a total of 1172 Catholic voters in seven swing states (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) using professional sample providers. Once admitted into the survey, respondents answered a battery of questions about the 2024 presidential election, their Catholic identity, views of different Catholic figures and the role of religion in society in general, and their views on key topics such as abortion and LGBTQ+ issues. Final data was weighted to ensure a representative sample of Catholic adults by age, gender, political affiliation, and ethnicity within each state using data from the 2020-2023 Cooperative Election Study conducted by Harvard University.
Margin of error, calculated at a 95% confidence level, is +/- 2.86% overall.
