Join us for this fourth Faith Plans workshop of 2022, led by Faith Plans partner EAT, on faith and food. Every faith celebrates food as a gift of the Divine and teaches that we must feed the hungry, and food plays a central role in the worship and celebrations of many faiths. But food also has a critical role in many of the huge challenges facing us, including climate change, environmental destruction, poverty and a rapidly growing global population.
What are the key problems with how we produce our food? How can we produce food more sustainably while also improving both the amount and quality of food available to the poorest? What role can faiths play in transforming our global food systems?
This event will be of interest to faith-based groups and organisations who are interested in developing a Faith Plan or who are actively developing a Faith Plan and are keen to learn more about how issues related to food, including food production and consumption, food habits, and access to nutritious, healthy food, can be integrated within a Faith Plan.
During this workshop, we will look at the environmental costs associated with how we grow our food, the impacts of our food choices, and food justice implications.
Guest speakers will share their faith-based experiences and solutions on how we can put food and faith at the centre of our Faith Plans, and at the centre of the faiths’ response to the ecological crises.
Attendees will be introduced to online guides and resources that can be used when creating a Faith Plans. The workshop will include time for interactive discussion between the panel and participants.
