Tonight, Saturday Nov. 4, John Allen will deliver the Landregan Lecture at the University of Dallas at 7:30 p.m. in the Church of the Incarnation. The topic will be “The Cross and the Crescent: The Relationship between the Church and Islam under Benedict XVI”. The event is free and open to the public.

The Landregan Lecture was inauguarated in 1999 to honor Steven T. Landregan, a University of Dallas alumnus, prominent churchman, former editor of the Texas Catholic, and patron of permanent deacons in the Diocese of Dallas. Speakers are nationally prominent figures whose area of expertise reflects the many interests that have animated Mr. Landregan throughout his long, distinguished, and continuing career of service to the Church in North Texas. Previous speakers have included Margaret O’Brien Steinfels, Joseph Martos, Rev. Joseph A. Fitzmyer, S.J., Archbishop Michael Sheehan, R. Scott Appleby, Toni Craven, and Robert Barron.
