John Allen, NCR's senior correspondent, appeared briefly on NPR's Morning Edition Wednesday morning.
Speaking to host David Greene, Allen talked about the Vatican's recent rebukes of U.S. women religious -- from news last month that it had placed the umbrella group representing the majority of sisters' ranks into a sort of church receivership to news Monday that Rome had sharply criticized a prominent U.S. moral theologian, Mercy Sr. Margaret Farley.
