Connecticut bishop to Baltimore a done deal

Earlier today, my colleague, Dennis Coday, posted a newspaper story about the possibility of Bishop William Lori of the Bridgeport, Conn., diocese being appointed the new archbishop of Baltimore archdiocese.

By the way, I live in the Bridgeport diocese.

Apparently, the appointment is a done deal, according to people connected to Bishop Lori.

Speaking as a priest of the Diocese of Bridgeport, I would say that Bishop Lori could hardly be called "orthodox"; any hint of it is political, or for show purposes only.

MORE OF THE SAME

MORE OF THE SAME ............ Thanks, Tom. Lori's promotion only shows once again that the Roman clique is digging in to protect the imperial cult.

For more on the ominous current role played by Lori as head of the papal swat team pushing to elect next November a "lower taxes on the Catholic 1%" Republican as US president, please note the NCR comment and related cross links under the comment heading, "BUSINESS AS USUAL IN THE RCC", accessible by clicking on at:

Bishop Lori has been a

Bishop Lori has been a dutiful auxiliary bishop and certainly dutiful in his management of the Bridgeport Diocese from all accounts. He is extremely bright, and one senses genuine humility in his presence. He possesses leadership skills and, of course, he has had to take the barrage of fire out on the line. He is a good man, and the Baltimore Archdiocese will be fortunate, indeed, if Pope Benedict names him to be its new Archbishop.

Bishop Lori is a good man

Bishop Lori is a good man with keen intellect. He is a devoted servant of the Lord, and has had to take a lot of heat in carrying out his priestly duties as a bishop in both Washington and Bridgeport. If he is named to be the new Archbishop of Baltimore, how fortunate is that Archdiocese!
