In Sunday's Washington Post, Kathleen Parker has a good examination of the GOP's willingness to look the other way when they find they are dancing with racists. As she rightly notes, it is wrong to suggest that all Republicans are racist, but it is also wrong to deny that the GOP needs to do a better job distancing itself from racists, and not just racists but cranks of all varieties. Cliven Bundy was obviously a crank long before he shared his thoughts on blacks.
