Libertarianism's "Rounder Edges"

At the Atlantic, Molly Ball interviews David Boaz, who has been at the CATO Institute since 1981. Boaz speaks of Sen. Rand Paul having "rounder edges" to his libertarianism than his father, but the same could be said of Boaz. The fact that libertarianism is developing "rounder edges" does not make it any less frightening to me, indeed, just the opposite.
