The growth of local and state progressive governance is one of the most under-appreciated developments in contemporary politics. The key question, better to say one of the key questions: Will companies flock to well-run cities and states, even if they have higher minimum wage laws and more union-backed workplace protections, because those are the kinds of places that the best workers want to live?
