This article at Vatican Insider looks at the recent issue of Espacio Laical, the Catholic magazine in Cuba that is widely considered to reflect the views of Cardinal Jaime Ortega. The current issue not only has a mostly positive appraisal of Raul Castro's tenure, but a three page editorial compiled by a group of intellectuals including Catholics, Marxists, and others who come together annually to discuss ideas. It is fascinating to me, in part, because it is so impossible to imagine anything like this happening in the U.S.
