Tevin Williams is a young Black Catholic who resides in New York City. His writing focuses on intersectionality of race, sexuality and faith and he is passionate about his own lived on experiences as a recent convert to Catholicism.
Tevin Williams writes about his hope that this Lenten season, "Black Catholics will recognize that in spite of the injustices and odds against us and the standard of perfection often required of us, we will prevail just as Jesus did."
Perspective: To become the church that, as Pope Francis urges, truly listens, we must continue to promote and uplift the most marginalized. Black people have been demanding that our voices be heard, from the streets to the pews.
