Supporters, critics and a step-by-step on how to help the sisters

Alice Popovici  |  May. 7, 2012

Ever since Fr. James Martin of America Magazine launched a Twitter campaign to support the nuns criticized in a Vatican report a couple of weeks ago, praise for the sisters has been pouring in. Just in case you missed it:

The Twitter feed has been relatively quiet in the last couple of days, but momentum is building behind a series of prayer vigils [1] that kick off tomorrow, organized by The Nun Justice Project with the help of local Catholic groups. Events were originally planned in a handful of cities, but the list grew to about a dozen over the weekend.

For more suggestions on how to help the sisters, see this list on the Soujourners blog [2], by Sr. Janet Gottschalk of Washington, D.C.-based Alliance for Justice.
