Sartain, in the spotlight but a bit of a mystery figure

Thomas C. Fox  |  Aug. 5, 2012 NCR Today

The Seattle Times has published [1]a profile of Seattle Roman Catholic Archbishop J. Peter Sartain, the man at the center of the strom between the Vatican and the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, the umbrella group representing most of the U.S. Catholic sisters.

Sartain has been chosen is the man who will carry out the Vatican mandated to bring the alleged wayward organization back to church doctrine and fidelity. The Times writes:

Despite a glaring spotlight that's currently upon him, Seattle Roman Catholic Archbishop J. Peter Sartain remains somewhat of a mystery to many in Western Washington. But a portrait is emerging of a man who is warm, humble and kind, while at the same time a leader who can be out of touch with the lives and concerns of some in his flock.
