Laugh or Cry?

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Over at Religion & Politics [1], they have posted an article on the art of Jon McNaughton, known as the "Tea Party's Painter." Check out the painting they feature at the top of the article. The art, such as it is, is not so much offensive because of its obvious propagandistic quality. It is offensive because it is idolatry.
