Nun explores family trends, dynamics in labor migration at Asian conference


Religious of the Cenacle Sr. Malen Java Java presented on the topic “Faces of the Family: The Overseas Filipino Workers Challenge” on the first day of the four-day conference organized by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines. She discussed the plight of families whose members are scattered in different countries because that is where they can find temporary work.

Philippine church official: Court ruling on health law partial victory

The Philippine Supreme Court ruled a reproductive health law constitutional Tuesday and declared it effective immediately.

But in rendering the decision, the court also struck down some provisions of "The Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012," leading an official of the bishops' conference to call it a "partial victory."

'Healing priest' sets final Mary mount Mass on Easter


A Catholic priest who has built up a huge global following for his healing ministry has announced he will celebrate his final healing Mass in Cavite province on Easter after the collapse of a deal to build a massive Marian shrine there. The primary donor questioned financial management of his ministry's foundation in charge of the project.
