Cardinal Burke among those leaving cardinals' meetings

As the cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church on Monday walked to and from meetings they're undertaking in preparation to choose the next pope, journalists and tourists alike watched and tried to pry information from them.

Among the cardinals was Raymond Burke, formerly the archbishop of St. Louis and the prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, the highest juridical authority of the Catholic church, during Pope Benedict XVI's pontificate.

Scottish cardinal's replacement: Credibility of church dealt 'serious blow'

Revelations about sexual impropriety by Cardinal Keith O'Brien have "dealt a serious blow" to the credibility of the Catholic church in Scotland, said the archbishop who will fill in for the embattled cardinal.

"This is a sad moment for the church in our country," Glasgow Archbishop Philip Tartaglia said during a sermon at a Lenten Mass in his archdiocesan cathedral Monday night.
