St. John Paul's trip planner, former head of Vatican Radio dies at 93


Cardinal Roberto Tucci, best known for having managed the travel logistics of the former globe-trotting pope, St. John Paul II, died Tuesday in Rome at the age of 93.

The Italian Jesuit and former head of Vatican Radio was not only a tough-negotiating papal advance man, he was also an expert at the Second Vatican Council, a theologian, an ecumenist and a man unafraid to give blunt advice on sensitive internal Vatican affairs.

NJ Catholic school teacher reinstated after anti-gay Facebook posts

Patricia Jannuzzi, the veteran Catholic high school teacher from New Jersey suspended for her anti-gay Facebook posts, will be reinstated immediately, school principal Jean Kline said in a letter.

Jannuzzi, a 33-year theology teacher at Immaculata High School in Sommerville, N.J., was forced to deactivate her Facebook page last month after several alumni started circulating screen shots of her sharply worded posts against gay marriage and gay rights. Two days later, the school placed her on administrative leave.

NCR McClory's life celebrated in home parish


EVANSTON, IL -- Family and friends gathered here on a clear spring day April 11 to celebrate the live of longtime NCR correspondent Robert McClory. They packed St. Nicholas church to share their sorrows and stories and to express personally their admiration for a man recalled as priest, husband, father, grandfather, teacher, mentor, reporter, author, activist and faithful dissenter.
