Webathon Day Two begins with matching grant

 |  NCR Today

Why are you visiting NCR this morning? I don't think you just stumbled onto our site. I'm betting you came looking for the latest news about the Catholic church and about issues that concern you. This morning on this site, you'll find news from Bend, Ore., Vatican City and Cincinnati, just to name a few places.

Did you see "Labor board: Adjunct professors at Catholic university can form union"? Or "Ho Chi Minh City’s new Archbishop installed"? We put reporters on the ground, covering stories that we know you want to know about.

This kind of reporting is expensive, but it is the only way to do it. It is the kind of reporting NCR has been doing for nearly 50 years. That's why you visit And that is why we come to you this week asking for support. We need to raise $100,000 this week to meet our funding needs.

Please help now with a generous donation.

Your donation will show how much you value NCR. We only come to you like this one week a year. The other 51 weeks a year, you have unfettered access to the news, analysis and commentary that you value so much.

There is no better time to make a donation than this morning. We have received a matching grant from NCR supporters Jim and Mary Frey. Jim and Mary have pledged to match dollar for dollar every donation that comes into NCR this morning up to $5,000. Take Jim and Mary up on their challenge. Donate now. Your $50 can become $100 if you act now.

Help us meet this goal -- or, better yet, surpass it -- and we'll go back to unrestricted access to the reporting, analysis and commentary you have come to expect from NCR.

If you believe NCR has been of service to you and your church community, I ask you to please take the time now to show your appreciation by making a donation to our fifth annual webathon.
