Father Alberto Cutié to join Episcopal church. The interesting question now becomes whether Fr. Cutie actually joins the Episcopal church, gets married, then some time later asks to become a Roman Catholic priest again, which Pope John Paul II allowed as a legitimate pathway. Now that would be rounding the bases, so to say.

Its sad. Cutié will vanish into the vapid nothingness of American Episcopalianism, where guys like him are considered good candidates for bishop. They certainly have no fear of divorce where he's going. Let's hope he can avoid it.

"In South Florida, at least five former Catholic priests serve in the Episcopal church. Nationally, there are more than 100 Episcopal priests who were once Catholic."
It does not mention Alberto's close ties to the virulently right-wing politics in Miami which has fostered bombings on the isle of Cuba to impact European tourism there, nor his initial attempt to cover-up his love affair by blaming Cuban spies.

The Pastorial Provision is
The Pastorial Provision is NOT open to Episcopal priests who are former Catholic priests. The purpose of the Pastorial Provision is to enrich the Church by bringing in Episcopal priests who come to "believe and profess all that the holy Catholic Church believes, teaches and proclaims to be revealed by God" and desire to continue their ministry as Catholics.

Get real--do you really think the bishop in Miami would let Cutie come back after this? No way! There is only one thing church hates more than Catholics who leave and join the Episcopal Church. Its priests who have sex with women! Now, put those two together, and this guy is out for good--unless...
