Fr. Joseph Langford, co-founder of the Missionaries of Charity Fathers, died Oct. 15, in Tijuana, Mexico, where the MC priests are headquartered.

In 1983, Mother Teresa shared his wish that there be a priestly branch of the Missionaries of Charity. Soon about 30 priests joined his ministry in the streets, barracks, and on the outskirts of large cities.

Langford went to Tijuana for the first time in 1988. Between 1996 and 1998, he was the Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity

His wake and funeral will be Tuesday, Oct. 19, and Wednesday, Oct. 20, in the Chapel of Our Lady of Confidence in Tijuana.
