U.S. forces have met a June 30 deadline to complete their withdrawal from urban areas and hand over full control to Iraqi security forces.

Some Iraq war statistics to date:

$800 billion spent or approved for spending through mid-2009.

U.S. monthly spending in Iraq - $12 billion in 2008

U.S. military deaths - 4,318

Non-U.S. military deaths 316

US military wounded - 31,368, 20% of which are serious brain or spinal injuries.

Iraqi civilians killed - 100,000 to 600,000 estimated

Iraqi insurgents killed - 55,000 estimated

Iraqi police and soldiers killed - 9,094
