Bourgeois nominated for Nobel Prize

The Philadelphia-based American Friends Service Committee, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate itself, has nominated Maryknoll Fr. Father Roy Bourgeois and the the organization he founded, School of the Americas Watch (SOA Watch), for the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize.

Roy Bourgeois, M.M. is -at

Roy Bourgeois, M.M. is -at the very least- as deserving as the 2009 winner who just signed a 680 billion check to the Pentagon,

and is about to place 30 to 34,000 more young Americans in harm's way in Afghanistan!

There is still a Good God in

There is still a Good God in Heaven after all, at least amongst the silent Quakers!

I pray now that our ncronline and Reverend Father John Dear SJ may second this nomination. The Reverend Father Roy Bourgeois (whom I first met in 1984 in Terra Bonna in Matagalpa in Nicaragua while visiting his complexing Maryknoll brother Fr. Ted Custer) most recently cares for his own elderly (96 years old?) father in Louisiana and thus has not appeared at events he would otherwise fill with the bright beaming spirit of his courageous and prophetic and compassionate Roman Catholic priestly ministry.

Let us pray this nomination proceeds, and second it!

I hope Fr. Roy gets his Nobel

I hope Fr. Roy gets his Nobel Prize. He deserves it for taking a stand against mass murder, kidnapping, rape and torture when others would rather look the other way.
