The best religion?

Some humorous commentary from Jon Stewart and "The Daily Show" news team about Fox News analyst Brit Hume's suggestion that Tiger Woods convert to Christianity for redemption and forgiveness. Hume has refused to apologize for the remarks, which many saw as intolerant of other religions, specifically Buddhism.

Other religions have fragments of God's truth in them, but not all roads lead to Heaven, and not all religions are equal. I applaud Brit Hume for the courage of his convictions. Only Christ saves...I fail to see how this could be controversial on a "Catholic" website.

Well now, what about that nasty little bit of Catholic history, otherwise known as the Crusades? Killing for the sake of one's beliefs as the only one which God chooses to save, is a convenient means of engaging in and supporting the Crusades, or more recently, believing that God put you in the White House, and thus beginning the first pre-emptive war that our country has initiated. As a result we, as a country, will never be able to criticize another country for similar actions. But that's OK, because we and our faith are always right. Wrong.
