Welcome to "Lawfare"

A new blog has been launched - "Lawfare" - that examines the difficult legal choices facing the country in a time when warfare has been changed by the advent of non-state terrorists, new technologies, and a renewed interest stateside in the text of the Constitution. I confess my interest in the subject is largely the result of the fact that one of the founders of the new blog, Benjamin Wittes of the Brookings Institution, is an old and dear friend. I also confess that this new blog is not like the Vatican website - I will not be checking it every day. But, I will say this. If you want expert commentary on these difficult issues rather than the often foolish, ideologically driven drivel one finds elsewhere, this is now the place to go for informed commentary that wrestles with the difficulties instead of dismisses them. Instead of droning on about drones, this site already has analysis that makes one think deeper not shout louder. And, that is a welcome addition to the blogosphere.
