On of the best features of the Washington Post’s “Outlook” section is where they explode 5 myths about a given topic.
Yesterday, they looked at several myths – some conservative, some liberal – about the effects of letting the Bush tax cuts expire. Coming on the heels of that notorious leftie Alan Greenspan’s urging that the tax cuts not be renewed, the case of extending them has only one logic: If you are a Republican worried about the possibility of a primary challenge, you might logically conclude that your political survival requires that you vote to extend them. They will not help the economy. They will not create jobs. They will not help small businesses. The only job they will help save is that of an incumbent GOP congressman.
